Beleza!!!!!
Oi! today is Saturday, the 7th. We just finished up our first camp in Sao Luis, Brazil. Let's catch you up on the events thus far...the boys...I mean men, have completely shaved their heads so they all look like a cult, or Zedan. The girls wanted to do something too...so we lost in Euchre twice and had to eat vinegered/hotsauced tomatoes, which were nasty...and jump in a pool with our clothes on...and knock on a door in the hotel and tell Brazilians in Portuguese that Jesus loves them. By the way...we have been working hard running one camp a day at 3pm...where b-ball is under the shade and there is a hoop, Sam!!!! yes, they were very excited for the one hoop that went up on the third day of camp. Meanwhile, us futebol coaches were busy dehydrating in the sun and getting schooled by 6 year olds. I must mention that during the Americana versus Brazil futebol game today after camp that Jed pulled a Sam and totally whiffed! It was beleza (beautiful) and legal (cool).
Oh we must let you know of the new camp song that we are adding to the UW song curriculum...it is titled "Nova Criatura" or New Creation for those of you not fluent in portuguese. It's pretty much gonna rock your world. To further illustrate the difficulties of being a missionary in Brazil, we have had steak for 99.9% of our meals...the other .1% is spaghetti. To add to the hardships we wake up facing a gorgeous poo poo beach, which has yet to be surfed by Jedediah. We pray that Kevyn's toe heals so he can dance. And to clarify...JRob did win in b-ball in Thailand last year.
We would love to "thank" Sam Askew for his encouragement in taking a three hour tour on the waters of Sarney Island!!! We enjoyed dune diving and hope to do it again next year!!!
Today was blessed as the Holy Spirit led around twenty kids into realtionship with Dues (God)!!! Continue to pray for us over the next week as we have two camps...Hopefully with baskets!!
